About the Role

Join our team as a Maintenance Technician at Thermo Fisher Scientific's Filtration & Separation Division. You will maintain and operate critical facilities systems for filtration manufacturing, ensuring reliable machine operation while upholding safety and compliance in a GMP environment. Responsibilities include working with automated pulp making plant, injection moulding machines with 3-axis Robots, and Utilities including Waste Water Treatment Plant, documenting all work in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical preventive and breakdown maintenance.
  • Conduct electrical fault diagnosis and root cause analysis.
  • Support electrical-related work in projects, including capital projects.
  • Participate in Practical Process Improvement as an electrical subject matter expert.

Requirements

  • Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance.
  • Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards.
  • Work in environments with loud noises (equipment/machinery).
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.).
  • Work in a warehouse environment.
  • Work with hazardous/toxic materials.
  • Work at heights.
  • Ability to occasionally wear and use Powered Air-Purifying Respirator (PAPR) equipment.

Skills

  • Industrial Electrical System (Motors, VSD, MCC, Switchboards, Protection System, Cable Installation & Termination).
  • Automation & Control (PLC troubleshooting – mostly Allen-Bradley, networking basics – Ethernet/IP, Modbus, sensors, actuators, 3-axis Robot interfacing).
  • Experience with MEX Computerized Maintenance Management System (preferred).
  • Ability to use Elevated Work Platform & Working at Height.
  • Ability to perform LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out).

  • Filtration & Separation Division Manufacturing, 140 Sunnyholt Rd, Blacktown 2148 NSW

Work Type

  • Flex Shifts
  • 40 hrs/wk
  • Shift-based position supporting a 24/5 operation
  • Standard working hours: 20:00 - 04:00, Monday to Friday (shift assignments may vary between 20:00 Sunday and 04:00 Saturday)

Experience Level

  • 4 - 5 years as an industrial electrician
  • Experience in a similar industry (preferred)

Education Level

  • Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician
  • Valid NSW unrestricted electrical license
  • Forklift license (LF) (preferred)
