About the Role

This role involves providing one-on-one home care support to individuals with disabilities, assisting them in their homes and community. The position requires travel between clients and involves short, split shifts. Candidates should have experience managing challenging behaviors, assisting with daily personal activities, and manual handling. Availability for client sessions ranging from 30 minutes to 2 hours, between 6 am and 10 pm, across Yennora to Picnic Point and surrounds is essential. Both permanent part-time and casual roles are available.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours while ensuring safety, dignity, and person-centred support
  • Provide assistance with daily living, including personal care
  • Offer domestic assistance and support with household chores
  • Maintain and monitor person-centred plans
  • Document progress notes

Requirements

  • Ability to commit to varied client session times (30 minutes to 2 hours) between 6 am and 10 pm
  • Australian Driver's Licence
  • Reliable, insured vehicle
  • Current First Aid certification
  • Current CPR certification
  • Willingness to complete basic household chores
  • Clear a National Criminal History Record Check
  • Obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check

Skills

  • Experience managing highly challenging behaviours, including verbal and physical aggression
  • Previous experience supporting people with disability in home care and community settings
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Confidence and experience in manual handling
  • Experience in providing personal care
  • Passion for delivering Person-Centred care
