About the Role

The Assistant Server embodies Sonesta's mission by providing exceptional service to guests and coworkers. This role involves clearing and setting tables and assisting the service team promptly. The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality and delivering outstanding service.

Responsibilities

• Assist servers in their tasks
• Ensure all service stations in the kitchen are stocked and ready for service
• Remove soiled dishes from tables and bring them to the dishwashing area
• Complete set up and teardown of dining events as assigned
• Carry food trays to tables, placing entrées at correct seat positions
• Set tables with silverware, glassware, and other items
• Polish silverware before and after shifts
• Clean dining room areas
• Stock servers’ stations with supplies
• Deliver passionate and engaging service to guests, anticipating needs to exceed expectations
• Consistently deliver the GUEST model: Greet warmly, use eye/ear contact and guest's name, anticipate needs, resolve requests/complaints, and thank guests
• Build solid relationships with colleagues, treating them with respect and dignity
• Work in other areas of the hotel when needed to assist operations

Requirements

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
• Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching required
• Ability to stand during entire shift
• Flexibility to work variable days, including weekends and holidays
• Flexibility to work variable shifts (days, nights, overnights)
