About the Role
Drive strategic partnerships with hospitals and universities across Japan, improving healthcare outcomes through trusted information and education solutions. Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing account management team focused on Clinical Solutions customers in Japan.
- Establish clear performance objectives, KPIs, and professional development plans for team members.
- Foster a customer-centric and collaborative culture aligned with Elsevier values.
- Support talent recruitment, onboarding, and retention initiatives.
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key healthcare stakeholders, including hospital leadership, clinicians, librarians, educators, and procurement teams.
- Develop strategic account plans to drive retention, adoption, and growth opportunities.
- Act as an escalation point for complex customer issues and ensure timely resolution.
- Ensure customers achieve measurable value from Elsevier Clinical Solutions products and services.
- Drive renewals, upselling, and cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts.
- Partner with sales teams to identify and close expansion opportunities.
- Monitor pipeline health, forecast accuracy, and account performance metrics.
- Support contract negotiations and commercial discussions.
- Maintain deep knowledge of the Japanese healthcare ecosystem, market trends, and competitor activities.
- Provide customer feedback and market intelligence to internal stakeholders, including product and marketing teams.
- Contribute to regional business planning and go-to-market initiatives.
- Collaborate with Customer Success, Product, Marketing, Sales Operations, and Support teams to improve customer experience.
- Participate in regional and global initiatives to optimize account management processes and best practices.
- Ensure alignment between local customer needs and global strategic priorities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above
- Minimum 5 years of B2B sales experience (preferably in IT, financial services, or other intangible solutions)
- Business English proficiency (global materials and systems are in English)
Skills
- Experience in the healthcare industry
