About the Role
The Sales Learning & Development Specialist creates, curates, shares, and maintains training content for Retail Sales Associates, serving as a primary resource for other Whirlpool Canada functions. This role maximizes sales, generates revenue, and increases brand loyalty through exceptional training programs for trade partners, key influencers, and internal partners.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive product training to Whirlpool's appliance trade partners, internal partners, and key influencers to increase awareness of product features and consumer benefits.
- Create engaging and timely training content using various software and tools, ensuring information reflects current market environments and brand launch initiatives.
- Lead, facilitate, and participate in product training events, innovative demonstrations, and "training experiences" both online and in person to maximize audience engagement and knowledge retention.
- Interface and collaborate with internal stakeholders (Product Managers, Account Managers, National Account Managers, Brand Managers, Category Managers) to become a product expert and support strategic product launches.
- Deliver post-training take-aways and distribute surveys to evaluate training program effectiveness and track participant progress.
Requirements
- College or University degree required
- Bilingual in French & English
Skills
- Located in the Montreal Area or GTA
- Ability to travel up to 50% to support in-person training events, trade partner sessions, and field visits (including some evenings and weekends)
- Superior communication and presentation skills coupled with an innovative mindset
- Strong computer skills with a proactive initiative to develop technical competencies further
- Experience with Content Development
- Self-initiative to rapidly understand Whirlpool products, their features, consumer benefits, and the competitive landscape
- A passionate enthusiasm for retail and product knowledge, with total comfort presenting in front of audiences both virtually and in person
- Exceptional relationship-building skills; a proven team player who excels in cross-functional environments
- A strong technical background or service technician experience is considered a strong asset
- High level of detail orientation
