About the Role

This role, reporting to the Business Leader for South Coast & Sydney, involves leading the Planning & Landscape Architecture team within the South Coast & Sydney Community Development team. The successful candidate will drive business growth, build client relationships, and ensure project delivery meets profit, schedule, technical, and quality standards for both clients and Stantec. Strong commercial acumen and proactive leadership are essential for achieving excellent outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Support monitoring and reporting on team performance.
  • Contribute to annual budget and business plan preparation and implementation.
  • Initiate and manage business development opportunities, lead client service, and maintain strong relationships.
  • Coordinate resource and technical development with leaders across offices.
  • Plan, program, and manage allocated projects and proposals to exceed client expectations.
  • Participate in projects as Project Manager, Project Technical Leader, or other technical/delivery role, or lead account management for major clients.
  • Ensure team utilization through forecasting, networking, business development, delegation, and backlog development.
  • Assist with client pursuits, opportunity development, project bid preparation, delivery methodology, pricing, and negotiation.
  • Deliver work that secures repeat business from valued clients.
  • Manage client relationships, strategic project pursuits, and major project leadership within the region.
  • Review and monitor staff performance, engagement, and manage performance issues promptly.
  • Review workload to optimize staff distribution for successful project pursuit and delivery.
  • Recruit staff and promote the Group.

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification, preferably post-graduate.
  • Minimum 10 years of related work, leadership, financial management, and consulting experience, or equivalent.
  • Professional registration in a related field.
  • Experience managing teams with management duties.
  • Experience delivering complex infrastructure projects.
