About the Role
This role involves building PrimerOS, the software, AI, and data layer powering Primer's K-8 school operations. The goal is to create systems that enhance consistency, scalability, and human interaction within schools, reducing administrative burden for educators and making Primer affordable. The role requires close collaboration with product, engineering, operations, and academics teams, including time spent in schools to understand teacher workflows.
Responsibilities
- Translate daily school operations into simple, useful products.
- Build systems to understand campus health and proactively address issues.
- Reduce administrative work for educators.
- Enable operators to make better decisions across the network.
- Own projects from early discovery through launch.
- Collaborate with campus leaders, market teams, educators, and central operators to identify workflow breakdowns.
- Partner with engineering to develop necessary tools.
- Conduct time studies on campus to optimize efficiency.
- Develop strategies for scaling school operations efficiently.
- Determine methods for proactive campus support.
- Explore AI applications to reduce repetitive tasks and enhance human judgment.
- Improve clarity and consistency of school operations.
- Set standards for product development, AI usage, and software integration within schools.
Requirements
- Experience building products for complex, physical workflows.
- Comfort working in messy, real-world environments, observing operations and identifying bottlenecks.
- Ability to reason from data and understand field realities.
- Capability to own projects end-to-end, from discovery and strategy to specs, launch, adoption, and iteration.
- Excitement to work on-site in San Francisco.
