About the Role
Support the Faculty Services team by ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and effective use across systems. Develop reports, dashboards, and data processes, partnering cross-functionally to drive data-informed decisions and improve workflows. Maintain data quality, support CRM systems, and translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations to enhance operational performance. This role is for a proactive problem-solver with strong technical skills and a passion for continuous improvement in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Retrieve data from internal and external systems, ensuring accuracy through reports, data analysis, and issue resolution.
- Develop queries, reports, dashboards, and processes to monitor data and metadata quality and integrity.
- Audit and maintain data quality, business processes, and process documentation within corporate databases and applications.
- Assess Faculty Services business requirements, automate processes and workflows, and modify software for new purposes or improved workflow.
- Analyze, interpret, and communicate data performance metrics and feedback.
- Review and control data for ongoing accuracy and consistency within Faculty Services.
- Design and integrate business processes and data flows between CRM/xRM and other applications.
- Assist in designing operational dashboards for management.
- Implement and deploy applications to maximize value.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and various teams on projects, defining business requirements, coordinating system builds/customizations, reporting, and data cleanup.
- Use SQL tutorials for software adjustments and query writing.
- Work on less complex projects and issues.
- Demonstrate basic understanding and proficiency with MS Dynamics/MS CRM and related developer tools.
- Demonstrate basic understanding of department processes and policies, including Faculty Development.
- Learn to add value and operate independently.
- Work under limited supervision.
- Provide expertise to other teams, including data administration and source-based data analysis.
- Work independently on regular duties under general supervision, escalating issues as needed.
- Perform root cause analysis on data and identify resolution approaches.
- Perform complex data analysis and report creation.
- Lead report and software customization for user needs, referring programming issues to the xRM department.
- Demonstrate advanced understanding of departmental policies, processes, related programs, and University policies.
Requirements
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel with ability to manipulate delimited files using T-SQL.
- Analyst skills using SQL, MS Excel, MS Access.
- Basic math aptitude and understanding of statistics.
- Well versed in creating meaningful reports and dashboards.
- Good understanding of end-to-end business processes.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and planning abilities.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented.
- Good interpersonal skills with ability to work well in a team environment.
- Familiarity with Customer Relationship Software and developer tools.
- Must pass a pre-employment background investigation.
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in a related field.
- Work experience in higher education preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be substituted upon supervisor’s approval.
- Minimum 1 year related work experience involving data manipulation, data governance, query and report writing, SQL, or database administration.
- Experience with supporting, launching, configuring, or testing a CRM-based system is helpful.
- Basic understanding of and proficiency with MS Dynamics/MS CRM and related developer tools.
- Basic understanding of department processes and policies, including Faculty Development.
- Greater understanding and knowledge of departmental policies and processes, related department programs, and University policies.
