Responsibilities

  • Perform service duties.
  • Supervise and coordinate Land Maintenance Specialists.
  • Oversee all departmental services, ensuring proper completion of scheduled work.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by adhering to service contracts.
  • Guide employees to develop their full professional potential.
  • Possess complete knowledge of Land Maintenance Specialist job responsibilities.
  • Make recommendations to improve operations.
  • Set goals and plan work flow to achieve company and department objectives.
  • Respond to customer service complaints via phone, email, or in-person.
  • Answer troubleshooting calls and resolve complex problems.
  • Conduct department personnel interviews and hiring.
  • Retrieve and review QA inspection reports.
  • Correct improper techniques to improve Specialist efficiency.
  • Plan and recommend solutions for persistent land maintenance problems.
  • Prepare write-ups, counsel employees, and contribute to specialist development, coaching, training, and separations.
  • Seek counsel before taking adverse action against an employee.
  • Approve time sheets and PTO requests timely.
  • Ensure commission sheets are accurate and submit to payroll.
  • Prepare vehicles for new hires or transfers.
  • Monitor drive cams.
  • Drive with new employees to work sites to assess readiness and reinforce proper techniques.
  • Effectively manage employee conflict and resolve work problems.
  • Escalate employee resolution matters to upper management or HR when necessary.
  • Take inventory and plan for future equipment demand and replacement.
  • Remain knowledgeable about company policies and procedures and communicate them to employees.
  • Seek counsel on employment law when necessary.
  • Assign equipment to new hires and account for returned equipment upon employee departure.
  • Enforce all safety regulations and company policies and procedures.
  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate employees to achieve goals.
  • Report unusual or extraordinary circumstances regarding customer property.
  • Maintain required property uniform and ensure a professional appearance and attitude for all service personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Reside within Austin and surrounding areas.
  • Hold a valid driver's license issued at least five years prior to application date.
  • Minimum of five consecutive (current and most recent) years of verifiable good driving history.
  • Experience in a leading position.
  • Demonstrated ability in motivating groups (preferred).
  • Ability to communicate with all organizational levels and customers.
  • Ability to forecast work seasons and personnel needs.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Ability to organize department workflow.
  • Ability to create solutions for production and administrative problems.
  • Dependable and self-motivated.
  • Desire to work year-round.
  • Ability to use and navigate electronic tablet/phone.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods in extreme outdoor temperatures.
  • Ability to perform repetitive lifting, twisting, pulling, pushing, and carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to handle and climb a 10-foot ladder.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Pass pre-employment screenings: drug screen, physical exam, physical performance evaluation (PPE), E-Verify (I-9), comprehensive criminal background check, and 7-year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) review.
  • No DWI/DUI within the past four years.
