About the Role
As a Manufacturing Layout Engineer at Unified Door & Hardware Group (UDHG), you will be the critical link between design and production, translating plans into action by precisely listing every hollow metal door and frame. Your accuracy will ensure each detail is clear, complete, and ready for seamless execution on the shop floor, making your layout the blueprint of our success.
Responsibilities
- Enter detailed shop drawing information into the designated manufacturing software.
- Analyze elevations and material profiles for compatibility with efficient manufacturing techniques.
- Ensure hardware templates are accurately interpreted and programmed relative to each part.
- Maintain tight manufacturing tolerances and adhere to established manufacturing methods.
- Evaluate all manufacturing factors in relation to shop capabilities, including bend deductions, shear sizes, jig selection, reinforcement needs, and material gauge selection.
- Accurately program elevations for efficient machine utilization/optimization and tool selection to properly produce parts.
- Support company values in Safety, Customer Focus, Teamwork, Integrity, and being a Company of Choice.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent with two years of additional computer training or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- 1-2 years of related programming experience.
- Knowledge of software applications.
- Understanding of related programming languages and procedures.
