About the Role
Conavi Medical is seeking an Accountant to prepare financial and taxation documentation and facilitate inventory costing in compliance with IFRS, government regulations, and internal policies. This role is crucial for improving cardiac care through the design, manufacture, and sale of an innovative intravascular imaging system.
Responsibilities
- Perform financial accounting activities including preparation of quarter-end and year-end financial statements, MD&A, treasury and cash management, managing quarter-end review and fiscal year-end audit, preparing tax returns and sales tax remittances, designing and proposing accounting and financial controls, reviewing and validating financial models, preparing financial reports related to contribution agreements, and analyzing corporate financial performance.
- Perform cost accounting activities including collaborating on inventory costing, planning, and forecasting, gathering and analyzing data on changes affecting cost and prices, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and lean manufacturing, and reviewing inventory cycle count results.
Requirements
- Degree in accounting and/or business
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or working towards is preferred
- Strong financial and cost accounting skills and knowledge with experience in finance and/or accounting functions
- Public accounting experience would be an asset
- Experience operating under Canadian taxation system ideally including R&D tax credits
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) application
- Preferred competencies include professional communication, collaboration and attention to detail combined with the ability to multi-task while still prioritizing activities in a fast-paced environment
