About the Role
As a senior data science professional, you will join the ING Analytics group within the COOA tribe to develop innovative, scalable data-driven solutions for Financial Crime and Fraud domains. You will work in a collaborative squad to build models that mitigate risk, ensure compliance, and contribute to a safer banking environment.
Responsibilities
- Create innovative, scalable data-driven solutions for Financial Crime Analytics.
- Address complex problems including imbalanced classification, outlier detection, entity resolution, and network/graph applications.
- Collaborate with multiple teams to implement solutions across the organization.
- Ensure alignment on technical requirements and delivery standards.
- Adopt best practices for developing and deploying model pipelines in accordance with ING model governance.
- Act as an effective member of a model development and implementation squad.
- Engage with stakeholders and communicate data insights effectively.
- Mentor junior data scientists.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of global work experience in Data Science, including statistical modeling and machine learning.
- MSc or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Econometrics, or a similar field.
- Profound theoretical understanding of Machine Learning (Classification, Outlier detection, NLP, Regression, Clustering).
- Extensive experience with algorithms such as Random Forests, Gradient Boosting, Neural Networks, Logistic Regression, SVM, KNN, and K-Means.
- Strong Python programming skills, including object-oriented programming, package development, and Git.
- Experience with Apache Spark.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex subjects clearly.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a semi-remote, globally distributed team.
