Responsibilities
- Lead and scale the security team, including managing, mentoring, and growing emerging security leaders and engineers.
- Define and evolve security strategy, building and maturing a comprehensive security program aligned with business and product goals.
- Embed security into engineering workflows by collaborating with engineering and product teams to integrate security early in system designs and CI/CD pipelines.
- Govern compliance and third-party risk, owning security architecture, operations, engineering, IT compliance, and third-party risk assessment programs.
- Act as a risk-management partner, assessing risk and providing business-enabling guardrails.
- Communicate complex security concepts and major risks to non-technical stakeholders, executive leadership, and cross-functional partners.
Requirements
- Experienced security leader with a track record of successfully leading, mentoring, and growing small security teams within highly-regulated, growth-stage businesses.
- Familiarity with operating within a public company environment and understanding its distinct requirements.
- Strong ability to lead through influence, build alignment, and navigate corporate organizational structures effectively.
- Proven track record of understanding business growth needs and balancing risk mitigation with operational speed and employee experience.
- Understanding of cloud-native security principles (least privilege, zero trust, segmentation), IAM controls, and practical architectural trade-offs.
