About the Role

The Dispatch Agent III is responsible for overseeing and documenting the pickup and delivery of local shipments, as well as coordinating and communicating shipment information between drivers and delivery agents.

Responsibilities

• Route local freight, dispatch drivers, perform dock checks, and track shipments.
• Work with dock staff to ensure freight movement.
• Provide customer service to identify and meet specific customer needs.
• Answer/make customer inquiry calls and address customer concerns/complaints.
• Enter shipment milestones into MyAIT & AS400 tracking system, including pickup, delivery, and proof of delivery.
• Identify and coordinate the prioritization of rushed/urgent/last minute shipments.
• Obtain quotes and coordinate distribution of information to outside specialty vendors.
• Assign driver load planning based on local mapping and appointments.
• Apply proper tariff and charges for cartage billing and driver settlements.
• Undergo regular Safety & Compliance training and adhere to all provided regulations in alignment with DOT/FMCSA standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all policies and standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years in Freight Forwarding industry experience preferred and/or industry experience in customer service/operations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Previous Experience working with AS400 preferred.
• Strong problem solving and multi-tasking skills with abilities to develop new ideas and innovative solutions.
• High attention to details and organization.
• Strong geographic and mapping skills.
• Sense of direction and coordination to build routes.
• Great interpersonal and communication skills with customers, drivers, and co-workers.
