About the Role
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Canada is seeking a Specialist Engagement Officer to provide structure and administrative support to a pool of volunteer specialists. This role is crucial for the telemedicine services program, ensuring the smooth integration, coordination, and vetting of these experts who provide critical advice on complex medical cases globally.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Specialist Recruitment Coordinator and Regional Implementation Officers on medical needs assessments for the program and field.
- Ensure continuous onboarding and training for volunteers.
- Validate regularly required documents, such as medical licenses, on an ongoing basis.
- Develop and implement a strategy for specialist engagement, recognition, sponsorship, motivation, and retention.
- Provide data on the specialist pool to assess gaps and ensure service quality.
- Maintain the specialist list and manage departure procedures for those leaving the platform.
- Contribute to the development of features and tools to improve specialist utilization and data communication.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on medical education initiatives, clinical case quality improvement, research requests, and other MSF projects.
Requirements
- Experience using telemedicine platforms or implementing telemedicine services.
- Demonstrated understanding of the role and responsibilities of volunteer specialists.
- Experience coordinating remote networks and maintaining relationships through social media tools.
- Proficiency in English (oral and written).
- Proficiency in French (oral and written).
- Experience in clinical coordination and close collaboration with medical staff is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Spanish, Arabic, or other languages relevant to MSF projects is an asset.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada; MSF Canada cannot support or relocate candidates from outside Canada.
