About the Role

Zurich Engineering is expanding its field-based Engineer Surveyor team with a vacancy for a Lift and Crane Engineer Surveyor in the North London/Hertfordshire area. This role involves conducting statutory inspections, providing expert opinions, and ensuring clients comply with legislation. The position offers a flexible work arrangement, allowing for diary management and client relationship development.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out hands-on statutory inspections.
  • Provide expert opinion on a wide range of equipment.
  • Ensure clients comply with all relevant legislation and exacting standards.
  • Report inspection findings using a rugged laptop and issue reports electronically.
  • Manage own diary to service own client area.
  • Broker and develop client relationships.
  • Work in a variety of interesting environments.
  • Develop mechanical engineering skills.
  • Work paid overtime.

Requirements

  • Experienced engineer with sound knowledge of engineering discipline.
  • Part of a multi-disciplined inspection team within a geographic area.
  • Based from home with client base a reasonable travelling distance.
  • Ideally a Level 4 qualification (HND / HNC etc.) in a relevant engineering field, minimum level 3.
  • Either a time served or Modern Apprenticeship.
  • Hands-on experience in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • A background in working with lifts and/or crane equipment is advantageous.
  • Hands-on experience in a role such as manufacturing / repair / maintenance / mechanical / motor trade.
  • A full valid UK driving licence.
  • Willing and able to work paid overtime.
