About the Role

The Senior Analyst, Operational Risk Management (ORM) will collaborate with business stakeholders and the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team to manage non-financial risks related to people, processes, controls, and systems. This role involves conducting Risk and Control Assessments (RCAs) and performing assessments for the Business Continuity Management program.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct RCAs to identify and assess risks and controls with business partners, focusing on operational risk.
  • Plan and execute independent testing of key controls using established methodology.
  • Coordinate and oversee the issue management process, including identifying control gaps and working with the business on remediation recommendations.
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders to complete Business Impact Assessments (BIAs) and Business Continuity Plans (BCPs).
  • Lead the preparation of engagement results and operational risk metrics for ORM Committee reporting.
  • Collaborate with Key Business Owners to maintain the ORM control inventory.
  • Assist with updates to ORM policies, procedures, and manuals.
  • Advise the business in the development of new processes and controls.
  • Develop and manage relationships with Key Business Owners to support the Bank’s ORM risk framework.
  • Support various ORM/ERM functions such as Technology and Cyber Security, and Third-Party Risk Management.

Requirements

  • University degree or College diploma required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in risk management, controls assessment, Business Continuity Management, compliance, audit, or a similar function.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of risks and controls within a regulatory environment (OSFI, FCAC, etc.).
  • Experience in the financial services industry and/or audit.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinker with the proven ability to solve problems and make decisions based on qualitative and/or quantitative analysis.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively as a team member within ORM/ERM functions.
  • Ability to document and present findings clearly and concisely.
  • Excellent project and time management skills and ability to work independently towards deadlines.
  • Ability to distill complex ideas into succinct and clear summaries.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Hands-on experience with GRC tools (Resolver, Archer or equivalent).
