About the Role

We are Jugendwohnen im Kiez – Jugendhilfe gGmbH, a recognized non-profit organization in Berlin with over 80 educational projects. We are seeking an educator / social pedagogical specialist / integration educator (m/f/d) for part-time employment (25-30 hours/week) to join our team. This role is for the Open Full-Day Program (OGB) with a reliable half-day school (VHG) and supplementary education and care (eFöB) at a newly established school, the 32nd Primary School in Berlin-Spandau.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively build the eFöB area and contribute pedagogical ideas.
  • Support students based on an inclusive care concept coordinated with the school (core working hours 10 AM - 4 PM).
  • Oversee study times and implement support concepts in coordination with teachers.
  • Promote social learning in classrooms and manage the daily routine of afternoon care.
  • Lead recreational activities and projects.
  • Conduct parent and family discussions and collaborate interdisciplinarily with all school educators and potentially other specialists.

Requirements

  • A professional qualification as a state-recognized educator or a comparably recognized qualification as a social pedagogical specialist (e.g., Childhood Education, Educational Sciences, Special Education, Remedial Education, or similar) is required.
  • German language skills at C1 level are mandatory.
  • Enthusiasm for co-creating the new eFöB area and actively shaping it for students alongside colleagues and teachers.
  • Empathic approach to children with challenging behavior, responding with appropriate methods.
  • Experience in the methodical execution of group activities with children, preferably in a school setting and in collaboration with parents.
  • Ideally, experience working with integration children or a further qualification as a specialist educator for integration or as a remedial educator.
  • Willingness to contribute personal strengths, skills, and ideas.
  • An attitude characterized by openness and appreciation towards families, understanding different cultures as an enrichment to society.
