About the Role

As an experienced member of our new product development team, you will design, plan, and hands-on develop complex backend services and cloud infrastructure for our mobile platform, focusing on scalability, performance, and reliability. You will actively take ownership of your services and infrastructure, drive technical decisions in coordination with technical stakeholders like platform teams, and define quality and performance standards based on the product's development stage (e.g., PoC, MVP, scalable product). You will collaborate with other developers to shape the entire development process from architecture to deployment on Kubernetes/AWS, coordinating with adjacent teams. You will develop and optimize RESTful APIs and microservices with Spring Boot, implement CI/CD pipelines, and automate infrastructure processes with Infrastructure-as-Code. You will work closely with mobile developers, product owners, and UX/UI designers to create the best possible technical foundation for outstanding app experiences.

Responsibilities

Define quality and performance standards in dependence of the development stage of the product (e.g., PoC, MVP, scalable product)
Shape the entire development process from architecture to deployment on Kubernetes/AWS together with other developers
Coordinate with adjacent teams
Develop and optimize RESTful APIs and microservices with Spring Boot
Implement CI/CD pipelines
Automate infrastructure processes with Infrastructure-as-Code
Work closely with mobile developers, product owners and UX/UI designers to create the best possible technical foundation for outstanding app experiences

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience in backend development with Spring Boot
Proficient in Kubernetes and container orchestration
Practical experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.)
Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
Deep understanding of microservice architectures, API design, and Cloud-Native Patterns
Open to developing data-driven applications
Experience in data modeling and design of scalable database structures is ideal
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Proactively take responsibility for your projects
Open mindset for the specifics of mobile app development
Interdisciplinary interest and willingness to collaborate with various departments, e.g., Data Scientists for integrating data-driven features
Proficient in agile development methods (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)
Corporate and start-up experience is ideal, enabling calm interaction with various stakeholders
Good German and English language skills
