About the Role

CODE is seeking a Freelance Lecturer for Introduction to Software Engineering to deliver workshops and guide students in foundational software engineering topics. This role is part of the Orientation Semester, designed to introduce students to project-based learning and various degree programs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver six 2-hour workshops on foundational software engineering topics.
• Introduce students to software architecture, problem-solving with code, and core technologies like the internet and LLMs.
• Guide students in technical decisions, prototype building with LLMs, and code quality evaluation.
• Run practical sessions to teach basic programming skills.
• Conduct end-of-semester assessments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Entitlement to work as a freelancer in Germany.
• A German bank account.

Skills

• Practical industry experience as a software engineer (web, mobile, or games).
• Basic understanding of networking and internet functionality.
• Basic understanding of LLM limitations and opportunities in development.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience as a workshop leader or teacher.
• Comfortable communicating and teaching in English.
