About the Role
The ideal candidate will be an experienced self-manager with commercial fashion retail experience. Speed and accuracy of decision making is key, so history working in a fast-paced commercial business is critical. This role will suit someone capable of managing project work whilst also running the day-to-day demands of a busy department.
Responsibilities
- Drive and maintain departmental standards, ensuring all garments excel in fit, performance, and customer satisfaction while strictly adhering to global legislation.
- Take full ownership of assigned product classes. Conduct live model fittings and execute deep technical, investigative work to deliver flawless products.
- Effectively communicate with our global supply chain, manage factory bases (supporting ethical compliance), and contribute insights to our overarching sourcing strategy.
- Analyse and approve fabric/garment test reports, monitor quality control, and deep dive into product returns to implement corrective actions.
- Partner closely with Buying, Design, and internal technical teams, as well as cross-functional stakeholders across the EU and North America.
Requirements
- Deep knowledge of fabric, garment construction, measuring, and multi-product manufacturing.
- Strong technical drawing and pattern-cutting skills are essential.
- A proven history of making smart, prompt, and flexible commercial decisions under pressure.
- An exceptional self-manager who builds strong, collaborative relationships across global borders.
- Understanding of the Urban Outfitters brand and customer.
