About the Role
Associate Director, Cybersecurity and NERC Compliance will manage client relationships, implement solutions, and deliver project results. This role connects Guidehouse consulting solutions to client problems, facilitates business development, and supports the sales process. You will establish and lead project workstreams, ensuring engagement success through client interaction and collaboration with Guidehouse experts. Responsibilities include supporting day-to-day operational meetings, leveraging industry connections for client and firm success across Canada, establishing business development opportunities, and communicating Guidehouse solutions and presentations to clients and internal executives. You may also lead, coach, and mentor consultants, ensuring quality deliverables. This position is designed to maximize customer success by integrating sales, stakeholder engagement, and project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Support meeting sales and growth targets within the Risk, Compliance, Security Team.
- Establish and facilitate business development meetings and foster industry relationships for short, medium, and long-term success throughout Canada.
- Support workstreams that enable the assessment, development, and enhancement of business strategies, operating plans, business processes, and organizational structures with an emphasis on our Canadian market.
- Support infrastructure for clients and Canada with emphasis on our Canadian market.
- Conduct NERC audits, improve NERC Compliance and Cybersecurity processes, analyze internal controls, and implement process improvements.
- Apply technical competencies from the ground up with clients and potential clients.
- Analyze NERC internal compliance programs, related strategy implementation, and associated compliance efforts.
- Communicate solutions and new strategies to clients through meetings, reports, and presentations.
- Provide detailed fact-finding, research, and analysis to further support risk assessment and mitigation plans.
- Ensure quality of deliverables to meet client expectations.
Requirements
- Must be a Canadian Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen due to client engagements.
- Bachelor's degree AND Nine (9) plus years post-graduation working experience OR Master's degree AND Seven (7) years post graduation working experience.
- Experience within the electric utility industry, including as a regulator.
- Work experience emphasis on NERC Reliability Standards (Canada and/or USA) supporting regulatory frameworks and processes around NERC and provincial and regional entities.
- Work experience should include Regional Entity, NERC, or related regulatory monitoring entity (e.g., Independent System Operator, Market Surveillance, Utility Commission) and/or experience working in an internal monitoring compliance, engineering, or operations role.
- Demonstrated working proficiency with NERC Reliability Standards.
- Strong industry relationships across Canada.
- Strong project management skills.
- Strong communications skills, including both written and verbal.
- Strong critical analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Highly developed organizational and management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities without diminished effectiveness.
- Ability to travel within Canada and/or the US.
- Ability to work onsite in a Guidehouse Office or close proximity to a Client Office location.
