About the Role

As the RFP & Bid Manager - AI Solutions, you will drive Mistral AI’s adoption among governments and strategic enterprise customers by leading the end-to-end Request for Proposal (RFP) and bid management process. We seek action-oriented individuals who excel at crafting compelling proposals and have a strong bias for execution, ideally with strategic sales, consulting, or public sector backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Drive strategic outreach to identify and qualify high-potential government and enterprise opportunities.
  • Lead the end-to-end RFP response process, including bid/no-bid decisions, win theme development, and proposal coordination.
  • Develop compelling, compliant, and competitive proposals tailored to public sector and enterprise requirements.
  • Ensure timely submission of bids, managing resources, deliverables, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Translate Mistral AI’s capabilities into clear, actionable value propositions for government and enterprise clients.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and R&D teams to tailor solutions to meet client needs.
  • Support Proof of Concept (POC) phases for public sector clients, ensuring smooth evaluation and transition to production contracts.
  • Demonstrate ROI and strategic impact of Mistral AI’s solutions, aligning with national priorities, policy objectives, and compliance frameworks.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with C-level executives, government officials, procurement teams, and senior decision-makers.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external stakeholders throughout the bid process.
  • Represent Mistral AI at government forums, industry conferences, and high-stakes meetings.
  • Guide executive stakeholders through complex technology adoption decisions, positioning Mistral AI as a trusted partner.
  • Develop and execute strategic bid plans to convert opportunities into long-term contracts.
  • Lead negotiations and collaborate with legal, finance, and technical teams to finalize agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement rules, tendering processes, and funding frameworks.
  • Monitor public sector trends, procurement opportunities, and competitive landscapes to prioritize high-potential bids.
  • Analyze competitor strategies and differentiate Mistral AI’s value proposition.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to shape Mistral AI’s go-to-market strategy for the public sector.
  • Partner with local ecosystems to co-create solutions and drive successful AI adoption.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration between sales, marketing, product, and delivery teams to ensure seamless bid execution.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of leading complex, high-value bids (€1M+) in enterprise or public sector environments.
  • Experience in RFP response management, including writing, editing, and coordinating multi-stakeholder proposals.
  • Strong bid/no-bid decision-making and opportunity qualification skills.
  • History of overachieving quotas (e.g., awards, President’s Club, or similar recognition).
  • Demonstrated success selling to ministries, EU agencies, or public-private organizations.
  • Deep understanding of procurement processes, compliance, and funding frameworks.
  • Ability to navigate public sector complexity while driving commercial urgency.
  • Experience selling AI, cloud, LLMs, or sensitive technologies into enterprise or government.
  • Ability to engage in technical discussions (e.g., data sovereignty, security, integration, compliance).
  • Skilled at building business cases that link AI adoption to policy objectives, ROI, and strategic impact.
  • Trusted advisor to C-level executives and senior government officials.
  • Strong coalition-building skills across functions, agencies, and stakeholders.
  • Confident public speaker with experience representing organizations at high-level forums.
  • Experience with European strategic accounts (e.g., defense, telecom, critical infrastructure) is a plus.
  • Multilingual (English + French or another EU language) is a plus.
  • Background in a hypergrowth scale-up environment is a plus.
  • Skilled diplomat: Ability to build strong relationships across C-levels and senior officials.
  • Excellent communication: Oral and written, with confidence under scrutiny.
  • Technical acumen: Ability to discuss AI/ML, data sovereignty, security, and compliance in depth.
  • Resilient and adaptable: Results-oriented with an enterprise sales mindset.
  • 8–12 years in enterprise sales, bid management, or business development.
  • At least 5 years in quota-carrying roles (e.g., Account Executive, Bid Manager, Strategic Account Manager).
  • Previous positions: Enterprise Account Executive, Senior Account Executive, Strategic Account Manager, Key Account Director, or Bid/Proposal Manager.
  • Industry experience: AI/ML/GenAI platforms, Cloud/SaaS/Cybersecurity, data infrastructure, sovereign tech, or enterprise software.
  • Fluent in English.
  • French is a plus.
