About the Role
The Principal Cyber Security Engineer provides strategic leadership and expert guidance in designing and delivering secure, resilient technology solutions to safeguard critical policing systems and sensitive information. This role ensures cyber security is embedded into enterprise architecture and digital transformation initiatives, enabling NSWPF to uphold operational integrity, protect public trust, and deliver secure, modern policing services.
Responsibilities
- Provides strategic leadership and expert guidance in the design and delivery of secure, resilient technology solutions.
- Ensures cyber security is embedded into enterprise architecture and digital transformation initiatives.
- Drives cultural change, embedding security into engineering practices across the organisation.
- Leads the design and delivery of solutions involving network, virtual, or containerised platforms.
- Mentors or upskills team members through coaching, training, establishing standards or best practices.
- Ensures alignment across stakeholders, including architects, engineers, and business units.
- Addresses and resolves conflicting technical opinions between engineers.
- Influences outcomes and leads teams in cybersecurity or infrastructure initiatives.
Requirements
- Must be an Australian Citizen, a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen.
- Must undergo a rigorous National Police (criminal history) Check.
- Must obtain and maintain a Security Clearance as determined by the NSW Police Force.
