About the Role
The Research Assistant Accountant provides financial administration support across the Institute’s research portfolio, ensuring grant finances are managed accurately and in compliance with funding agreements and internal policies.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the establishment and maintenance of grant financial structures
- Process financial transactions
- Maintain accurate financial records
- Support reconciliation and reporting activities
- Contribute to the preparation of financial acquittals and audit requirements
- Collaborate with the Research Accountant, Finance team, and researchers to ensure financial accuracy
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Strong Excel skills
- Experience working with financial systems and data
- Understanding of core accounting principles, financial controls, and reconciliation processes
- Ability to learn and interpret funding, compliance, and reporting requirements
- High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
