About the Role

This 12-month fixed-term contract role supports the Global Group Risk & Compliance function in strengthening risk management capabilities. The Senior Business Analyst will be instrumental in designing and mobilizing the AML/CTF and Sanctions uplift program by developing business cases, capturing requirements, and liaising between business and delivery teams. The role may also involve leading business analysis streams for solution design and implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the discovery and analysis phase for AML/CTF and Sanctions reforms globally, including Australia, United Kingdom, New Zealand, and India.
  • Analyze regulatory and policy changes and assess their business impact.
  • Lead analysis and discussions to elicit targeted business requirements.
  • Capture current state processes, identify compliance gaps, and articulate future state operating models.
  • Develop business case inputs, including cost estimates, options analysis, risk mitigation strategies, and benefit forecasts.
  • Facilitate workshops across compliance, operations, legal, and technology functions.
  • Develop comprehensive business requirements documentation and user stories.
  • Support vendor assessments, procurement processes, and regulatory engagement.
  • Participate in solution design discussions to support Technical Analysts.
  • Develop implementation and operationalization assets, including Playbooks, SoPs, and Process Maps.
  • Support all stages of testing, manage defects, and change requests.
  • Provide input into training, procedures, and business readiness plans.
  • Manage post-implementation support and hyper-care.
  • Follow up on outstanding issues with business users or IT developers.
  • Ensure effective transition and handover to BAU teams.
  • Develop and maintain professional working relationships with key senior stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other program resources.
  • Foster strong working relationships with external vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Create and deliver risk mitigation strategies.
  • Promote a culture of risk and compliance awareness.
  • Promote a best-practice culture through training and education.

Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Senior BA in financial services.
  • Demonstrated experience in regulatory change, compliance uplift, or AML/CTF initiatives.
  • Experience with KYC, Transaction Monitoring, and Sanctions Screening.
  • Skilled in business case development, cost-benefit analysis, and process modelling.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills, including executive-facing deliverables.
  • Familiarity with AUSTRAC, FCA, and/or FATF guidelines preferred.
  • Ability to connect, engage, pivot, and change while being thoughtful, considerate, and respectful.
