About the Role
As a consultant on the Red Hat Consulting team, you will focus on OpenShift and related Platform technologies like RHEL and Ansible. You will collaborate with IT and software engineering teams to optimize container operations for clients, acting as a key member of the delivery team. Your role involves visiting client sites to understand their IT, cloud, and business needs, and proposing solutions for optimization.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the implementation (design, build, operation, maintenance) of Red Hat's open hybrid cloud solutions, including RHEL, Red Hat OpenShift, and Ansible.
- Collaborate with project and client teams to achieve deadlines and objectives.
- Contribute to project documentation and diagrams, including quality assurance and ticket/bug management.
- Advise and share knowledge with clients.
- Develop and implement automation and integration for client cloud and system infrastructures.
- Define and promote the adoption of automation technologies and DevOps processes to improve cloud lifecycles, including infrastructure and application uptime, availability, and time-to-market.
- Design and drive solutions using cloud technologies, design principles, integration points, and automation methods.
Requirements
- Over 10 years of experience in technology fields such as consulting, operations, help desk or service desk, design, or development.
- Over 5 years of Linux experience, preferably with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or its derivatives.
- Experience in designing and operating cloud infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with DevOps or Agile processes.
- Experience with operating system architecture and virtualization, such as KVM.
- Knowledge and experience with PaaS, including container implementation like Docker and container orchestration implementation like Kubernetes.
- Experience with public cloud technologies and providers such as Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Windows Azure.
- Experience implementing system infrastructure and cloud solutions, including data storage, networking, monitoring, and security.
- Experience working with Bash and similar command-line tools.
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills in both Japanese and English.
- Ability to work with distributed teams, including interacting with open-source communities via email and chat.
- Experience in a quality assurance position, preferably with ticketing systems and bug tracking tools.
- Ability to research independently, learn quickly, and apply new ideas.
