About the Role

As an Assistant Manager, you will be a vital support to the store's management team, working closely with the Store Manager to drive commercial performance, develop the team, and uphold Merz b. Schwanen's high standards. You will balance floor presence with operational responsibilities, leading the team through busy periods, analyzing KPIs, assisting with scheduling, and stepping in for the Store Manager when needed.

Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with the Store Manager to achieve commercial goals and KPIs, understanding how team performance and daily decisions impact results.
Lead the sales floor with confidence and consistency, setting the standard for customer experience.
Support recruitment, onboarding, and continuous development of team members through coaching, feedback, and product knowledge.
Take full responsibility for store operations in the Store Manager's absence, ensuring continuity in daily operations, processes, and team management.
Partner with the Store Manager and VM specialist to implement visual merchandising, ensuring the sales floor is brand-compliant and commercially optimized.
Oversee inventory management and backstock organization, ensuring timely replenishment and accurate inventory processes.
Assist the Store Manager with staff scheduling and the fair, operationally effective management of absences.
Contribute to the planning and execution of in-store events and promotions in collaboration with the marketing team.

Requirements

3-5 years of retail experience, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in premium apparel or a similar environment.
Ability to connect with customers and colleagues in an attentive, people-oriented manner.
Strong commercial acumen and proficiency in using performance data to make decisions and motivate the team.
Natural leadership qualities, leading by example, building trust through actions, and fostering accountability in others.
High organizational skills and operational strength, with the ability to manage competing priorities without losing attention to detail.
Proactive, solution-oriented mindset, anticipating and addressing challenges promptly.
Appreciation for high-quality garments, craftsmanship, and thoughtful design, aligning with sustainable values.
