About the Role
AAMCO of Amityville, a leading automotive center on Long Island with over 35 years of community service, seeks a skilled General Repair Diagnostician/Technician to maintain exceptional customer service standards. This position offers competitive pay, AAMCO training, and advancement opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicle automotive systems.
- Remove and reinstall transmission systems.
- Assist other technicians in performing technical activities.
- Explain discovered problems to service writers and technicians.
- Continuously learn new technical information, equipment, tools, and repair techniques.
- Professionally record findings for accurate repair cost estimation.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a General Automotive Technician.
- Hold a valid driver's license.
- Own professional-grade tools for general repair needs.
- Experience troubleshooting and conducting mechanical and electrical diagnostics, including drivability testing.
- Safe working knowledge of shop tools and equipment.
- Existing knowledge of transmission system removal and reinstallation is preferred but not mandatory.
