About the Role

The Centre Manager is responsible for the overall management and administration of the day-to-day functions of the Centre, reporting directly to the Institutional Director.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an annual strategic plan and budget for the Centre, execute the plan, and deliver monthly progress reports to the Centre Management Board.
  • Execute organizational strategies through the Centre to ensure alignment with national objectives.
  • Plan and oversee regular programming and special events at the Centre, including the establishment of operational procedures for day-to-day activities.
  • Manage all Centre expenditures and revenues, and provide monthly financial reports to the Head Office.
  • Coordinate tasks with Centre committees and subcommittees.
  • Recruit necessary staff and volunteers by liaising with the Head Office.
  • Enforce organization policies and regulations at the Centre.
  • Supervise the Imam, other employees, and contractors, conducting annual evaluations and submitting them to the Centre Management Board.
  • Represent the Centre in interactions with the community and government entities.
  • Maintain official records and ensure compliance with governmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Head Office to manage the Centre's website and maintain its online presence across various social media platforms.
  • Provide leadership in fundraising efforts, including overseas travel, drafting solicitation letters, organizing events, public speaking engagements, donor engagement, and encouraging fundraising activities.
  • Serve as a representative of the Centre in specific cases as delegated by the Centre Management Board.
  • Participate in Centre Management Board meetings as a non-voting member.
  • Generate reports as requested by the MAC Executive Director.
  • Ensure the Centre remains accessible to the public during operating hours.
  • Formulate proposals for community programs, collaborate with the Institutions Department Representative on their development, and oversee their execution.
  • Offer administrative, managerial, and logistical support for MAC-organized events, including Friday prayers, camps, Ramadan programs, Eid prayers and celebrations, conferences, etc.
  • Supervise Centre renovation projects and liaise with contractors and stakeholders as necessary.
  • Draft written documents outlining Centre policies, operational procedures, and processes.
  • Manage relationships with commercial unit tenants.
  • Establish a centralized repository for official Centre records and documents, ensuring compliance with governmental regulations.
  • Oversee Centre expenditures and revenues.
  • Recruit and manage contractors or volunteers as needed to maintain regular operations.
  • Prepare reports as requested by the Institutions Department Representative.

Requirements

  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends.
  • Must be available to work irregular hours as needed.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license issued by the province of work and have access to an insured vehicle.

Experience Level

  • Experience in management of non-profit projects in North American or a Western country

Education Level

  • Bachelor degree or higher from an accredited college or university, or acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience
