About the Role
Ansible Government Solutions is seeking Nursing Assistants (NA) to support the Community Living Center at the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Hospital in Montrose, NY. Multiple shift schedules are available, and assigned schedules are subject to change.
Responsibilities
- Assists physicians and nurses in performing diagnostic examinations by monitoring vital signs, preparing and positioning patients, or performing routine diagnostic tests.
- Assists physicians and nurses in the care and treatment of veteran patients.
- Provides comprehensive patient care to complex patients with diverse physical and/or behavioral issues, including personal nursing care, support duties, and treatments.
- Utilizes strong communication skills when interacting with patients, including those who are difficult to care for or communicate with.
- Adheres to universal precautions and infection control policies and procedures.
- Conducts rounds to ensure visual contact, safety, and comfort of each patient.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment and completes assigned environmental duties.
- Enters patient information into the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS).
- Performs direct patient support, including personal care and basic patient education.
- Cleans bedside tables, stocks linens, and cleans wheelchairs and other resident care equipment using appropriate precautions.
Requirements
- Licensed as a CNA.
- Trained and experienced in a long-term care, community living center, or hospital setting.
- Holds and maintains current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Has no health or physical disability restrictions that interfere with assigned duties.
- Able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist.
- Able to lift up to 20 lbs.
- Able to carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance.
- Able to push/pull with 30 lbs of force.
