About the Role

Cambridge Specialty Company, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented CNC Mill Operator to join our team in Berlin, Connecticut. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and optimizing CNC milling machines to produce high-precision components in accordance with engineering specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong machining knowledge, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC milling machines (3-axis, 4-axis, or 5-axis as applicable)
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions
  • Install tooling, fixtures, and workholding devices
  • Load materials and ensure proper alignment and setup
  • Monitor machining processes and make adjustments to ensure tolerances are met
  • Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and collaborate with engineering or programming teams
  • Conduct routine machine maintenance and maintain equipment in good working order
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school training preferred
  • 2+ years of CNC milling experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of milling operations, tooling, feeds and speeds, and materials
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Experience with CNC controls
  • Proficiency with precision measurement tools and inspection techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
