About the Role
Serve customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols to return time back to science.
Responsibilities
- Perform tasks in inventory management including consumables, chemicals, and samples.
- Ensure accurate inventory control and process requests leading to inventory movement.
- Fulfill customer metric reporting.
- Monitor slow-moving and dead inventory.
- Conduct cycle counting and yearly physical inventories.
- Provide daily customer service and communicate with customers regarding inventory management.
- Perform purchasing functions including back order reporting, expediting, direct factory shipments, and managing quotes.
- Handle document control, records maintenance, and resolve open invoices or pricing issues.
- Perform order entry, reporting, maintaining metrics, and cost savings tracking.
- Coordinate shipping activities, including handling routine issues and operating basic warehouse equipment.
- Enter shipping information into customer computer systems and perform equipment inspections.
- Handle hazardous materials and prepare shipping documentation and packaging.
- Interface directly with customer point of contact, purchasing directors, facility directors, and plant managers.
- Manage consigned, non-consigned, customer-owned, or third-party inventory.
- Utilize Avantor and customer computer systems (SAP, Citrix, Intranet, Avantor Inventory Management Systems, ChemSW, and customer-specific systems).
- Meet goals and objectives for safety, performance, and quality.
- Create programs for enhanced service efficiencies.
- Interface with Avantor Sales Force and manufacturer representatives.
- Document change management.
- Perform desktop delivery of inbound packages to customer contacts.
- Update and maintain Standard Operating Procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of customer service, inventory replenishment, or material handling experience, or transferable education.
- Basic Office Skills: Use of Microsoft Office Applications (Teams, Outlook, Excel).
- Access to required Avantor and/or customer-based systems.
- Must be customer-focused with demonstrated customer service skills.
- Possess interpersonal skills to support various levels of personnel at the customer site.
- Must be able to lift around 35+lbs.
Skills
- Microsoft Teams experience preferred.
- Supply chain knowledge is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
