About the Role
The IT Project Management Office (PMO) is seeking a Business Consultant to support IT PMO functions including coordinating new investment strategy onboarding, business analysis, project intake assessments, and project management for key investment initiatives. This role focuses on business analysis (approx. 60%) and project management/governance support (approx. 40%), partnering with business and IT stakeholders to ensure projects are well-defined, assessed, and decision-ready.
Responsibilities
- Support IT PMO work intake by coordinating assessment activities for incoming initiatives and enhancements.
- Facilitate discussions to clarify business objectives, scope, assumptions, dependencies, risks, and delivery approach.
- Provide guidance and carry out business analysis activities, facilitate solution and design discussions, and stakeholder interviews.
- Present options, trade-offs, risks, and recommendations clearly and concisely.
- Work with multiple IT and business teams to support high-level solution assessments, resource demand and capacity inputs, and order-of-magnitude cost and budget estimates.
- Document and consolidate intake outputs to support funding, prioritization, and initiation decisions.
- Conduct risk-benefit analysis in clear technical and non-technical language.
- Communicate progress with stakeholders throughout the IT Intake lifecycle.
- Ensure intake and initiation artifacts meet PMO standards and are suitable for governance and audit review.
- Manage multiple new investment strategies at different levels of development.
- Coordinate end-to-end activities required to onboard new investment strategies, working across stakeholders to drive operational readiness.
- Leverage investment experience, communication, and planning skills to ensure stakeholders are aware of new investment strategies being onboarded and associated timelines.
- Seek opportunities to improve solutions and optimize workflows and processes.
- Manage stakeholder expectations by maintaining open communication between business and technical stakeholders and keeping relevant parties informed of progress.
- Apply strong understanding of project delivery methodologies and the Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC) to support planning, execution, and delivery of investment initiatives.
- Support audit readiness through clear documentation, traceability, and adherence with IT PMO processes and methodology.
- Act as a strong facilitator and communicator across multiple business divisions and IT.
- Proactively identify and action risks and issues that can impact project milestones.
- Use MS Project Schedule and other project management and work tracking tools to build out project delivery schedules.
- Produce bi-weekly status reports and conduct project status meetings and project control committee meetings with key project stakeholders.
Requirements
- 8+ years of combined experience in business analysis, consulting, project management, or IT-enabled delivery roles.
- Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on project management experience.
- Demonstrated experience supporting IT work intake, assessment, and initiation, including estimates and budget inputs.
- Strong understanding and experience with project management methodologies and lifecycle concepts.
- Working knowledge of investment management and capital markets to support IT intake assessments, investment strategy onboarding, and cross-functional coordination with investments and IT teams.
- Proven ability to work effectively across business, IT, and PMO environments.
- Ability to translate complex technical and investment concepts into clear, decision-ready insights for diverse stakeholders.
- Strong facilitation, analytical, and documentation skills.
- Experience working with developers to produce solutions that work for the business.
- Prior involvement with third-party vendors, vendor management, internal and external operational audits.

- The actual base salary offered to the successful candidate may vary based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, individual's expertise and level of experience applicable to the role they are being offered.
- This role is eligible to participate in discretionary incentive plan(s), subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan text.
