About the Role
The Community Health Organizer performs administrative duties, community engagement activities, and curriculum training for the Texas A&M Opioid Prevention for K-12 Students (TOPS) program.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a liaison between community and school decision-makers to build capacity.
- Coordinate cultivation and engagement events with schools and community stakeholders.
- Plan, develop, and implement opioid prevention awareness and education programs.
- Provide logistical support for community events including scheduling, technical support, and catering.
- Conduct site visits across area counties to monitor program activities.
- Train community partners in the TOPS curriculum.
- Deliver community opioid prevention awareness campaigns, specifically regarding fentanyl.
- Collect data for opioid prevention awareness and education programs.
- Prepare monthly reports and track progress toward program milestones.
- Oversee daily fiscal and purchasing activities.
- Maintain activity logs regarding client activity and travel.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Four years of public/community/external relations or event planning experience.
- Ability to travel independently up to 50% or more, including driving and flying.
- Ability to work beyond normal office hours and on weekends.
- Compliance with state and federal laws and university policies.
- Successful completion of a criminal history investigation.
