About the Role

We are seeking teacher leaders for maternity leave coverage in 3rd and 5th grade. The ideal candidates will develop students' academic and socio-emotional skills, build inclusive classroom communities, and differentiate instruction to ensure engagement with rigorous, grade-level content. Responsibilities

Develop differentiated, inquiry-based curriculum
Develop yearly scope and sequence for content areas aligned to state and national standards
Create weekly and daily lesson plans that align to standards and meet individualized learning goals
Collaboratively build integrated inquiry arcs with grade level teams
Hold and meet high expectations for student learning and social-emotional development
Create, monitor, and adjust Individualized Learning Plans
Collaborate with team, manager, and learning specialists to sustain an inclusive environment
Partner in the development and support of IEP goals
Provide individual and small group instruction to meet differentiated needs
Assess student progress through holistic and standardized approaches
Use data to drive instructional strategies
Implement research-based classroom management strategies
Build an inclusive and anti-racist school culture
Create a learning environment that celebrates diversity and promotes safety and joy
Partner with families to develop student goals and strengthen home-school connections
Commit to constant professional and personal growth
Collaborate with grade level teammates and the teaching community
Prioritize serving Black and Brown students, students with IEPs, and English learners
Document, reflect, and share pedagogy and insights with the community

Requirements

Valid teaching CA credential preferred
Two years of relevant elementary, content-specific teaching experience
Strong academic outcomes for Black and Brown students, English Learner students, and students with IEPs
Commitment to equitable teaching approaches including culturally responsive teaching, inclusion, anti-racist education, and restorative practices
Experience working with children and families from diverse backgrounds
Familiarity with Special Education accommodations, IEP implementation, and inclusive practices
Bilingual preferred
