About the Role

The Data Engineer designs, builds, maintains, and optimizes data infrastructure to support reporting, analytics, and data-driven decision-making. This role manages data pipelines, integrations, and architecture to ensure reliable, secure, and accessible data, playing a critical role in data governance and organizational performance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data architectures, databases, and data warehouses.
• Manage data engineering projects from initiation to completion.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify data requirements and integration opportunities.
• Develop and maintain automated ETL processes for data ingestion and transformation.
• Integrate data from internal and external systems while ensuring accuracy and integrity.
• Implement data quality assurance processes and validation controls.
• Analyze and document complex datasets to support strategic initiatives.
• Optimize data structures and storage solutions for efficient retrieval.
• Create sustainable data infrastructure to improve accessibility for end users.
• Refactor and modernize legacy data processes.
• Maintain the data analytics environment to ensure security and alignment with business needs.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and industry best practices.
• Develop technical documentation, data dictionaries, and system architecture diagrams.
• Prepare data for dashboards, reports, and business intelligence tools.
• Lead data migration and system transition efforts, including the move from Domo to Power BI.
• Provide expertise on data governance, security, and compliance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data integration and pipeline issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, information systems, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer, Data Scientist, or BI Developer.
• Strong proficiency in SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
• Working knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R.
• Experience with BI and visualization platforms like Domo, Power BI, or Tableau.
• Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Knowledge of relational databases, data warehousing, and data modeling.
• Understanding of data governance, quality, and security best practices.
• Experience developing visualizations and dashboards.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis and data validation methodologies.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
