About the Role

EDP Renewables APAC is seeking a legal professional to provide comprehensive legal support for renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and storage technologies. The role involves managing regulatory compliance, drafting complex contracts, supporting M&A transactions, and advising on general business law within the Asia Pacific region.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on entity incorporation, structuring, and regulatory licensing for renewable energy projects.
• Advise on renewable energy regulatory frameworks, tender documents, and project financing agreements.
• Draft and negotiate industry-specific contracts including PPAs, EPC agreements, and joint development agreements in English and Japanese.
• Manage general business legal issues including corporate matters, disputes, procurement, and human resources.
• Support M&A transactions, including deal structuring, due diligence, and post-closing integration.
• Liaise with internal business units and external counsel to manage legal risks.
• Monitor legislative developments to ensure business compliance.
• Promote legal compliance awareness among employees.
• Deliver high-quality legal work within budget and deadlines.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Laws from a reputable university.
• Qualified as Bengoshi.
• 3-5 years of relevant renewable energy experience.
• Proficiency in both English and Japanese is compulsory.
• Ability to read and write traditional Chinese is an advantage for supporting the Taiwan market.
