About the Role

This position manages architectural due diligence and design across all Bridgestone Retail store formats, including new builds, remodels, and expansions. The role leads technical negotiations, document reviews, and cross-functional initiatives while maintaining responsibility for project budget management, risk mitigation, and financial stewardship.

Responsibilities

  • Manage A&E conceptual design, due diligence, document development, and jurisdictional approval processes.
  • Monitor designs and construction activities for conformity to project specifications and value engineering.
  • Manage the flow of A&E information between internal departments and external agencies, vendors, and partners.
  • Ensure timely and accurate review of documents for completeness, cost-effectiveness, and coordination.
  • Review third-party design and construction activities affecting retail locations.
  • Ensure conformance to site standards and incorporate business criteria into final designs.
  • Coordinate jurisdictional code investigations and develop construction drawings, specifications, and bid packages.
  • Manage internal development meetings to monitor project performance.
  • Select, train, and retain outside consultants and contractors.
  • Conduct asset evaluation surveys and construction document turnover meetings.
  • Negotiate construction issues and establish terms and scopes of work for agreements.
  • Participate in the RFP process for design consultant services.
  • Develop and maintain a digital library of design details, specifications, and prototypical drawings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in architecture.
  • In-depth knowledge of civil, structural, architectural, electrical, and mechanical engineering disciplines.
  • In-depth knowledge of standard construction practices, means, and methods.
  • Extensive experience with condemnation matters.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems with comprehensive solutions.
  • Must complete Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification.
