About the Role
Business Insider is seeking an accomplished correspondent to join its award-winning enterprise team to produce impactful stories in the worlds of business, technology, and innovation. This role involves collaborating with editors and reporters globally to develop ambitious journalism, with a focus on creating talk-of-the-town work that has real-world consequences.
Responsibilities
- Produce revelatory journalism in the worlds of business, technology, and innovation with the aim of breaking stories that drive real-world consequences
- Identify ambitious reporting targets
- Juggle long-term and short-turn efforts
- Cultivate and maintain a network of sources, and source up fast in new areas as needed
- Work with the graphics, photo, video, audience development teams to engage our audience and maximize our impact
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in business or tech journalism, including a proven track record with investigative or enterprise work
- Deep understanding of the business and tech worlds and the ability to explain complicated issues clearly
- A proven ability to deliver complicated, sensitive stories and handle anonymous sourcing
- Experience using data sets, documents, or open-source reporting techniques such as social media tracking, geolocation, or satellite imagery
- Strong storytelling instincts and excellent communication and organizational skills
- A collegial approach to collaboration and a willingness to experiment
