About the Role
Take on a new challenge and apply your networking and telecommunications expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside innovative, collaborative, and dedicated teammates. You'll play a central role in reducing the carbon footprint of Canada’s busiest public transit system. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (design, engineering, and commissioning), design and deploy network and telecom solutions, and ensure alignment with project objectives, milestones, and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation, such as System Functional Specifications and Architecture Design Descriptions
- Performing network maintenance, troubleshooting, and support field activities
- Designing and deploying networks and virtual solutions based on system requirements
- Creating and maintaining system documentation, including Interface Control Documents
- Performing capacity analysis for Communication Networks
- Using traffic generator and network management tools to meet performance, management, and monitoring objectives
- Participating in radio and network design, implementation, and test activities
- Supporting installation, test, commissioning, and maintenance activities both remotely and in the field
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience in networking or telecommunications
- 5-15 years of experience in a related field
- P. Eng certification or in progress
- Knowledge of network hardware, including servers, routers, and other computer devices
- Understanding of TCP/IP and LAN/WAN
- Experience with network security, policies, and routing protocols (e.g., IP or SR MPLS)
- Hands-on experience with IPsec, VPNs, and firewalls
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and GIS platforms is a plus
- CCNP/CCDE/CCIE certifications are desirable
