About the Role
Women's College Hospital is seeking an experienced Total Rewards & Payroll Specialist to join our collaborative Human Resources team. This role supports payroll operations while contributing to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the hospital's Total Rewards strategy.
Responsibilities
- Configure and manage the Benefits module in Dayforce HRIS
- Administer ASO benefits contracts including EHC, Dental, Life, LTD, AD&D, and HCA
- Manage full-cycle Desjardins ASO benefit administration and payroll reconciliation
- Support employees on Long-Term Disability in collaboration with Occupational Health
- Develop benefits training materials and serve as the primary contact for complex inquiries
- Collaborate on special projects such as market adjustments and government payout initiatives
- Support HOOPP administration and resolve escalated employee inquiries
- Contribute to the accurate and timely execution of bi-weekly payroll
- Oversee direct debit processes for HOOPP and benefit premiums
- Audit timesheets, transfers, new hires, and seniority calculations to ensure data integrity
- Process special and off-cycle payments including SUB plans and terminations
- Partner with the Payroll Lead on year-end activities
- Act as a backup for payroll processing to ensure operational continuity
- Translate the People Plan into practical compensation and benefit solutions
- Participate in hospital network information sessions and compensation surveys
- Analyze HR data to develop insights and reports
- Audit and update HRIS system data for accuracy
Requirements
- Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Three to five years of experience as an HR or Payroll professional in a unionized workplace
- Reside and be legally eligible to work in Ontario
- Knowledge of Ontario Employment Standards Act, WSIB, Human Rights Code, Labour Relations Act, Pay Equity Act, and Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Verification of credentials, health review, and proof of immunity and vaccination status

- Advanced HRIS proficiency
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, xlookups), and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical skills
- Compensation, benefits, and payroll knowledge

- Ability to work under pressure with minimal direction
