About the Role
The role involves performing tool design tasks, interpreting tool orders, developing tooling concepts, creating manufacturing drawings, and collaborating with fabrication teams to ensure high-quality project outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Interpret tool orders for critical information
- Develop and review tooling concepts with internal customers
- Create manufacturing drawings
- Monitor project performance against estimated hours
- Collaborate with fabrication personnel
- Provide solutions to tool manufacturing problems using standard techniques
- Participate in teams using 6 Sigma tools
- Support daily technical production needs
- Manage individual parts or subassemblies
- Research new materials and competitive products
- Document functional requirements and translate into design documents
- Participate in Make-Buy analysis for product components
- Design 3D models using Creo Parametric
- Perform basic FEA using Ansys Workbench
- Troubleshoot technical problems using vendor-specific diagnostic guides
- Document hardware, software, and communication resolutions
- Participate in setting evaluation standards for troubleshooting
Requirements
- 2+ years of professional CAD software experience
- 3+ years of manufacturing experience
- Professional application of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or mechanical engineering
- Successful completion of a drug screen
