About the Role
The London Regulatory Reporting and Data Management team owns Financial Regulatory Reporting for CIBC’s European businesses and supports key systems like London Data Warehouse (LDW) and General Ledger (GL). This role involves overseeing the London Data Warehouse and Central Customer Database, and preparing regulatory reports or limit monitoring activities.
Responsibilities
- Maintain Central Customer Database (CCDB) as a reliable information source for Regulatory Reporting.
- Review and action LDW Daily Error Log Reports and GL exception reports, ensuring timely resolution.
- Monitor General Ledger processes on behalf of the UK Finance team.
- Administer the GL set up and closure process for European org units.
- Highlight and investigate operational issues relating to LDW and GL, liaising with appropriate parties for solutions.
- Undertake User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and implementation for LDW and GL projects.
- Develop knowledge of the LDW database, mapping, and query functionality.
- Understand LDW tables and their maintenance to identify operational inefficiencies or process improvements.
- Prepare allocated regulatory Financial Regulatory reporting for CIBC’s European entities.
- Involve in other Finance ad-hoc tasks as assigned by manager.
- Seek ways to automate reporting through tools such as Alteryx to increase capacity.
- Support SLA made with Luxembourg and ensure deliverables are met at target levels.
- Support record retention to ensure requirements are met.
Requirements
- Near-qualified ACA/ACCA/equivalent candidate.
- Prior experience with regulatory returns – Bank of England statistical reporting preferred.
- Experience with Alteryx preferred.
- Good IT skills, in particular Excel.
- Appetite to learn and develop and to grow the role.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to effectively communicate and interact with others at all levels within and outside the Finance team.
- Working knowledge of investment banking products, data fields and systems.
- Clear, methodical approach.
- Attention to detail, ability to prepare concise and accurate documentation and work-papers.
- Ability to be proactive in finding and developing solutions and be actively aware of data integrity issues and their impact to downstream processes.
- Ability to self-manage, to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Assistance with relevant study support may be provided in accordance with CIBC policy at the discretion of manager.
