About the Role
As a Cook, you will be essential to patient, staff, and visitor well-being by preparing high-quality, safe, and delicious meals, including those for multiple therapeutic diets, while adhering to all state and federal food preparation regulations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve food according to menu and dietary requirements
- Operate kitchen equipment including slicers, mixers, ovens, fryers, steamers, stove tops, and grills
- Modify food preparations to account for allergies
- Monitor and maintain food temperatures during cooking, holding, and storage
- Prevent cross-contamination and adhere to personal hygiene standards
- Maintain proper labeling and storage of food, equipment, and machinery
- Perform cleaning and sanitation duties in cooking and serving areas
Requirements
- One year of food service experience
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Prior cooking experience preferred
Skills
- High-volume food preparation
- Knowledge of food safety standards
- Understanding of therapeutic diets
- Culinary excellence in fast-paced settings
