About the Role

Bayshore Medical Personnel is seeking a part-time Personal Support Worker for a healthcare clinic serving diverse clients, including adult males and females, families, pregnant women, 2SLGBTQI+ individuals, minors, those with medical conditions, addictions, mental illness, and victims of human trafficking.

Responsibilities

• Assist detainees with activities of daily living, including feeding, lifts and transfers, bathing, skin care, oral hygiene, and toileting.
• Provide additional care as delegated by a registered health practitioner, when safe and within provincial legislation.
• Monitor detainee well-being and safety, reporting and documenting unsafe conditions and changes to medical resources.
• Communicate basic information to detainees, CBSA officers, or contracted security resources per a pre-established plan of care.
• Complete and maintain related records, including reports, system or file updates, and progress notes.
• Collaborate with medical service resources and the CBSA.
• Provide mobility and social support.
• Perform administrative tasks and follow up with other healthcare providers.

Requirements

• Copy of PSW certificate from a recognized College.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience within the last five (5) years, working as a Personal Support Worker.
• Valid RELIABILITY STATUS security clearance.
• Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) within one year.
• Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) Certification within two years.
