About the Role

We’re hiring a Senior Asset Management Associate to help run the engine behind our Fund. You'll hold third-party property managers to Flock's standards, run dispositions from identification through close, serve as the primary point of contact for Separately Managed Account partners, and work with our Legal team on asset-level matters. This role is for a top-tier operator who wants to drive portfolio performance. Expect occasional travel to our markets (approximately 10%).

Responsibilities

  • Directly manage third-party property management partners, holding them accountable to Flock's standards on leasing, maintenance, and resident experience.
  • Regularly review property valuations, rental rates, make-ready scopes, and capex costs, and analyze portfolio performance to inform hold/sell recommendations.
  • Produce and analyze detailed financial reports for each market, comparing performance against budgets and market indices, and help draft strategic business plans.
  • Drive cross-departmental initiatives and represent Asset Management internally and externally.
  • Identify sell candidates and coordinate the disposition plan end-to-end alongside partner agents, turning hold/sell analysis into closed sales.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for third-party Separately Managed Accounts, building trust to keep institutional partners growing with us.
  • Be the Asset Management team's embedded partner on asset-level legal matters, spotting risk early and bringing proactive recommendations for issues like rezoning, licensing, or tenant disputes.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of asset management experience, managing residential portfolios (single family preferred) at small or large firms, with a focus on portfolio performance data and outcomes.
  • Intermediate-or-better Excel user and comfortable working in BI dashboards.
  • Sound judgment on legal issues, knowing when to escalate.
  • Desire to grow your impact, balancing speed of delivery with judicious prioritization.
  • Proactive mindset and ability to manage multiple tight deadlines without sacrificing attention to detail.

About the Company

  • Flock's mission is to provide every retiring landlord with the most cost-efficient and seamless exit. Our first product is a tech-enabled 721 Exchange for residential landlords. Owners contribute properties into our professionally managed Fund, in exchange for passive equity ownership. It's a direct 721 Exchange model designed for everyday owners who want access to continued cashflows, liquidity, and diversification without triggering capital gains, disturbing tenants, or dealing with disposition friction. We're growing fast and are looking for smart, entrepreneurial hustlers who want to help build something category-defining.
  • We're backed by top tier investors, including Andreessen Horowitz, Primary Ventures, Renegade Partners, SUSA Ventures, 1Sharpe Ventures, and leaders from Invitation Homes and Opendoor.
