About the Role
The Service Technician will be responsible for the effective diagnosis and repair of engine components including small engines, agricultural equipment, and other equipment sold in the market area. Work must be completed safely, professionally, and in a timely manner. This role is ideal for individuals who strive to do great work, excel in creative team environments, and enjoy problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned equipment.
- Ensure work is completed at high levels of quality and safety.
- Engage in daily customer contact.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment using diagnostic tools.
- Perform necessary repairs.
Requirements
- Must own and maintain their own tools (specialty tools provided by dealership).
- Possess basic computer skills.
- Ability to assemble and perform maintenance functions.
- Able to work a varying work schedule/shift and be flexible to respond to after-hour calls.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Excellent oral communication and written skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to stand, sit, talk, hear and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and telephone.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision.
- Hearing ability is sufficient to communicate with others in person or over the phone.
- Ability to reach, stoop, kneel, and bend as needed.

Experience Level
- 2-3 years’ experience as a mechanic working on small engines, diesel and gas engines, and small handheld components (Preferred)
- Experience with John Deere Equipment (Preferred)
