About the Role

Perform and coordinate electrical design and development of new equipment and the modification of existing electrical equipment consistent with plant standards, including equipment changes due to plant procedure changes.

Responsibilities

  • Practice and promote safety, including assessing risks, performing authorized activities, and utilizing appropriate PPE.
  • Supervise and coach 4 electricians.
  • Program CTI PLCs, Ifix HMI, Kiln High Level Control, and Mill High Level Control.
  • Perform network maintenance and IT internal support for servers, switches, and virtual programming.
  • Manage electrical and mechanical projects.
  • Be on-call on a rotational basis.
  • Act as a champion for certain safety programs.
  • Maintain housekeeping in a plant area.
  • Oversee the predictive/preventative electrical maintenance program.
  • Participate in the creation of preventative maintenance routines (PMRs) and bills of materials (BOMs) for electrical equipment.
  • Prepare engineering scope of work for plant electrical projects.
  • Interface with contractors, including soliciting quotes, selection, and field direction.
  • Prepare cost estimates and justifications for the capital plan.
  • Conduct economic and operation feasibility studies on proposed electrical modifications and additions.
  • Maintain a standard set of specifications for consistent application related to modifications or additions.
  • Maintain, organize, prepare, review, and revise drawings as required.
  • Develop detailed preventative maintenance routines for all plant electrical equipment.
  • Research and recommend new PM procedures based on newly developed technologies.
  • Use SAP to purchase parts and services, review work orders, analyze reports, and manage capital projects related to electrical project management and PM development.
  • Demonstrate commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Promote a culture of safety and exhibit safety behaviors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 3-5 years of equivalent experience.
  • Working knowledge of PLC programming and process control systems is preferred (ControlLogix, PLC-5, and SLC 500).
  • Experience in instrumentation, motors, starters, and VFDs, communication networks (Modbus, Modbus Plus, Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, etc.).
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to respirators.
  • Employees required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face to pass fit tests.
