About the Role

We are recruiting multiple Young Person’s Practitioners to support young people aged 11–18 who may be vulnerable to criminal exploitation. The role involves providing intensive one-to-one support, delivered through multi-agency partnership work, group sessions, and individual interventions, to help young people move towards positive pathways such as education, training, and employment. This role contributes to understanding effective methods for diverting young people from crime.

Responsibilities

Working in partnership with the local authority, youth justice services and Police
Providing 1-2-1 support for young people involved in or at risk of offending
Supporting young people with issues concerning relationships, emotional wellbeing, peer pressure, exploitation, and substance misuse
Providing young people with coping mechanisms and support in challenging lives
Offering practical support and mentoring on basic life skills, employability, and resilience building
Building trust and rapport to be a constant in the lives of young people, enabling them to make effective life decisions
Providing group activities and outdoor programmes

Requirements

Experience working within a multi-agency environment (e.g., social care, early years, health services) with a strong understanding of safeguarding practices
Background in supporting individuals who have offended or are at risk of offending
Knowledge of the criminal justice system
Experience managing cases in line with agreed procedures, including completing assessments, planning, and reviews
Strong communication skills, particularly in engaging with young people and actively listening
A full driving licence and access to a vehicle
Relevant lived experience

Salary/Compensations

circa £28,000 per annum + £1,175 outer London weighting allowance
